My Views As A Man

Now before I start just let me say that I don't count myself as a rapper or a poet. I don't put myself in a category that include great minds and voices and thoughts and ideas like our Maya Angelou or Langston Hughes or Tupac or Notorious BIG or Gwendolyn Brooks or Etheridge Knight. My thoughts aren't comparable to those who eat sleep breath these beautiful words with delicate stanzas constructed to inform just as much as entertain enlighten and expound. These are just my views as a man. And no these views may not make sense in the sense that they are not interconnected but then again rarely is a mans mind interconnected when it's not connected to his...

These are just my views as a man, a realistic idealist. Or maybe an idealistic realist.
And no that's not a play on words to work in a complicated contradiction just to sound witty.
I'm the man that takes a realistic view and explains it to you in a way you didn't see and it just so happens to sound pretty. The man that not only works hard but works hard at letting you know I work hard. Because never will I be the deadbeat, the "ain't shit nigga", the minimum wage maker who is content living hand to mouth because his views are to narrow minded to see the bigger picture within himself. Never will I be the one who died and everybody just looks at each other and shrugs because that somebody before them was a nobody. I will live till my dying day knowing that when my little girl can formulate and articulate like her daddy, she will be proud to look up at THIS MAN and say,
"HE IS
SOMEBODY!"
I will be that man that will do what it takes to be better than that man who just did what it took. The man who just at one look..
You know he's about the smile on her face and the food in her mouth. And she will never come second to me tryna see how you look up out that blouse.
These are just my views as a man.
Not to be confused with the view of men. Because for the longest I never understood how my own species operated. How you can raise your hand to a woman and still count yourself amongst men. How you can worry more about a woman wit something between her legs for you than the growing woman in front of you that has something in her backpack for you.
But again these are just my views as a man.
If you like em feel free to take em. If not it's been nice but you can leave em. Either way there's no skin off my back because I know what this mind I've been sitting on is a gold mine. And it's time get bought. It's time to share my Sacajawea and Ulysses S Grant coins with the people. So no longer am I taking a penny for my thoughts.
These are just my views as a man an idealistic realistic man with a mind of gold. Ready for a silent audience of nobodies and everybodies tryna be somebodies.

Soooo I'm sitting here watching scary movies with my sisters.. Curiosity.. Why do white ppl never do what EVERY black person suggests in unison while watching. Killer on the boat?? Time to jump in the water. One floor leap to safety? Where's my red bull cuz I'm boutta get wings in this bih! I think thru the progression of this movie (I know what you did last summer) one choice was made that I agreed with. Other than that this is the dumbest compilation of actions committed by multiple ppl I have ever witnessed..

So I'm just getting off work and I must say that was the most boring of nights! Whoever decided that ppl had to ALWAYS know how much they are spending on wranglers should be shot in the face.. They're wranglers! No one cares! If you buy wranglers it's like admitting to everyone who sees you that you aspire to be a carpenter or that you still roll cigarettes up in the sleeve of your Hanes white tshirt... Yup... That's all I wanted to say..

New years texts...

If you wish me well in this new year but I didn't hear from you for the last few months of the previous, is that kinda like saying "well shit since the nigga didn't die like I wanted..."? Just me thinking that? That's cool too..

Random thoughts on sex

Your preference should reflect your partners desires. Anyone that ever says sex is overrated is doing it wrong. Keeping a sexual partner happy is a job and responsibility. A job that someone else will gladly fill. If your partner likes oral regularly, time to start flexing your jaw muscles. If they like toppings, you better be a walking dessert. If they like anal.... Time to find a new partner, but that's beside the point lol. You either keep them happy or you can give them permission to do the cheating they are going to do anyway.
Couples that can't see each other regularly have to work doubly hard when it comes to sexual happiness because you not only have to fulfill their happiness when ur together but you have to put the times you are together on their mind to the point that they are willing to wait for you. Think of it as fasting. The temptation to eat is there the entire time you fast but the wait for the feast at the end is well worth it. Speaking of which.. I'm hungry...

2012.... Eh..

So I'm excited about the new year. Not for the reasons other people are however. I don't believe in the idea of new years resolutions. It takes 21 days to create a new habit (depending on who you ask) so to say that you will continue to indulge until a given day is rather ridiculous. Why work toward something after you attempt to "get it out of your system"? Why not just work on changing when you realize there is a problem? No one is impressed by your week without cigarettes, or your toned down sex life until January 6th. Small changes are what new years resolutions are for. Not for you to decide you're a new individual.
